Miguel Canovas

Miguel is our lead ecologist in the South East of the UK. He has extensive experience in ecological appraisals, protected species surveys, and reporting. A passionate bat ecologist, Miguel also dedicates time to surveying with his local bat group.

Outside of work, Miguel is a talented musician with an impressive guitar collection. He plays in a London-based death metal band, combining his love for nature with a passion for heavy music. Originally from Brazil, south of São Paulo, he moved to Europe in his early 20s and eventually settled in North London. Whenever he can, he returns to Brazil, where the wildlife is a little more exotic—think anacondas and capybaras lounging at the bottom of the garden!
